“Inevitable” shows Kimura’s characteristic combination of mysterious figurative representations with abstract treatments: impasto and expressive stains. The figure depicted resembles a shadow hidden behind a foggy glass. It is an unknown faceless person, at once devoid of identity and full of personal stories and deep-rooted emotions. By touching the canvas with her paint-covered fingers, the artist comes into intimate contact with the painting and the painted figure.
