The Empty Gold Man Black sculpture combines the antique with the contemporary. The artist uses concepts and ideas derived from the art traditions of Greco-Roman antiquity and modern Italian art with reflections on contemporary society and consumption. The aesthetic-formal dimension of the sculpture refers to forms known from antiquity, modes of sculptural imagery, and iconographic patterns, which the artist has fused with the aesthetics of pop art and popular culture codes. The sculpture encourages reflection on the past and on being here and now.
