Michał Jackowski (b. 1978, Poland) currently lives and works in Białystok, Poland. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and works primarily with natural materials such as Carrara marble, bronze, and wood. Jackowski has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Audience Award at the 2022 NordArt exhibition in Buedelsdorf, Germany, the Artistic Award from the Mayor of Białystok for his lifetime artistic achievements, two awards at the Artrooms Awards Competition in London, as well as two prizes at the International Art Biennale in Florence. Jackowski is actively involved in the art scene both in Poland and abroad, with a focus on people and their spiritual states, as well as interpersonal relationships. He employs timeless, classical aesthetics in his works to raise questions that are relevant to us all. By combining elements from antiquity with those taken from the world of pop culture, Jackowski prompts viewers to reflect on their relationship with the past and the present moment.
