
Kinga Burek (b. 1995) – visual artist, painter, and art historian. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków with a degree in Painting, studying under Professor Andrzej Bednarczyk. She also holds a degree in Art History from the Jagiellonian University.
She is a laureate of the 19th and 20th editions of the Hestia Artistic Journey competition and was a finalist of the 45th Painting Biennale Bielska Jesień in 2021. In 2020, she was awarded the title of Person of the Year at the Krakow Art Salon. Her position in the young art scene has been recognized in the Compass of Young Art, where she ranked 20th in 2021, 14th in 2022, and achieved an impressive 2nd place in the 2024 edition.
She was also distinguished at LOOSTRO – the 16th Autumn Art Salon at BWA Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski.
Kinga Burek’s artistic practice is grounded in the observation of everyday life, which she places within broader social and political contexts. She primarily works in painting, most often using egg tempera – a traditional technique she prepares herself by mixing pigments with binder.
